DESCRIPTION:Firebird Motorsports Park will play host to some of the wildest street cars in the nation as part of Sick The Magazine’s Death Week\, taking place at the Phoenix venue on Saturday\, October 21 from 9am to 1pm and on Sunday\, October 29 from 10am to 2pm. \nThe trip to Phoenix will be just part of what is a 2000-mile drag-and-drive haul from Arizona to California to Nevada\, then back to Arizona. \nEvery vehicle competing at Death Week is street legal\, yet they are capable of incredible performances.\nSix-times Hot Rod Drag Week winner Tom Bailey will be among the competitors\, bringing his Gen 3 Hemi-powered Dodge Durango which is chasing four-second times over the eighth-mile. \nRacers will be coming from far and wide to compete\, including three racers from Canada. One of those is drag-and-drive legend Rich Guido\, bringing his famed stick shift Pontiac GTO. DESCRIPTION:Since its inception in 1978 the Bugorama has been going strong twice a year. The Bugorama is America’s longest running VW event and is world famous in the VW community. The event is held on Sunday of Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. Sacramento Raceway Park in Sacramento California has been the long running home of this bi-annual event. Our family has been involved in the event since 1979. We became the sole promoters of The Bugorama in 1990. \nSince 1978 our family has owned and operated Bugformance of Sacramento. An independent VW parts and service establishment we have over 30 years in the Sacramento area. \nIn 1998-1999 we promoted the PRA World finals at SpeedWorld Motorplex in Surprise\, Arizona. In 1999 we purchased the VW Classic that is held in sunny Irvine California. The VW Classic is on the second Sunday in June. Every racer who chooses to sign up accumulates points for each race in which they participate. The best 7 races count toward the points total for each racer at the end of the series\, and anyone who runs at least 1 race qualifies to enter the Race of Champions at the ET Finals. \nClasses: \nWhen you sign up to earn points for the series\, you must choose and designate a class or classes to accumulate your points. If you wish to change your class during the series\, you will lose your round points and qualifying points for that class. You will only keep your show up points and transfer them into the new class you are joining. \nHigh School Class: \nThe High School Class will run with the Sportsman (Street) class during the 2022 series but must stay within the NHRA Summit ET High School Rules. Please refer to the NHRA Rule Book for all class rules. As a high school participant your points will be kept separate as to determine our high school track champion. Minors that are 16 & 17 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to sign a waiver of release at the first event of the season. They will then be on a minor waiver list for the remainder of 2022 for all events. \nNHRA Membership and Car Number: \nFor the points series\, you must have an NHRA ET number for your race vehicle in order to earn points in your class. If you do not have a permanent ET number\, a temporary one can be issued to you when you sign up. If you qualify for the ET Finals and want to practice you will need to purchase a permanent NHRA ET Number and NHRA Membership prior to participating at the Summit ET Finals at NHRA\, online at nhra.com. (The High School Class will get theirs from NHRA).
